When I visit the DMZ, I could imagine how he missed his left family in North korea of course he made a big family in South and having wonderful life in a peaceful country.
But he must have had a tough time since he settled in South... I wish he will have a chance to meet his left family in North someday.. However, this is the front line that we can not go anymore as it's surrounded by iron fence from west to the far east of Korea. The gap between South and North is about 4km. There are nothing between that area except for some military soldiers. In some way, it's very beautiful as no one touched that area for half century which is well preserved for pure nature. We can see very rare animal and plant that never seen from another place. Of course, it's very dangerous place as well due to invisible mines on the ground sadly.
Infiltration tunnel,, made by North korea around late 1970 and found out by military workers of South.
As far as I know, there are 4 infiltration tunnel in total. I just can't understand why they tried to make this tunnel and terrible when thinking about getting attack from North again.
You will be shocked when you get there because of the long and deep tunnel. Nowadays, many tourist visit this place not only korean but also foreigners. On the other hand, we thank to North korea as we make it profitable by having tourist from all over the world. :)
However, if you think about trip to Korea, DMZ should be a priority on your list.
They provide Panmunjeom tour as well which is called JSA(Joint Security Area)
Just for your information, some countries like China, Singapore or some other countries has to submit thier scanned passport 7days in advance of visit.
But the contries like USA, UK or Japan can make a reservation without the submit of passport.
